If you are using bronze forwards against gold defenders for example, you8217re going to struggle successfully beating these players to most through balls without being intercepted. Approaching the match with a more tactical mindset and a focus on keeping possession will usually frustrate the opposition and create gaps for you to play into when they press the ball. Your player8217s first touch and passing accuracy may be an issue depending on how low their chemistrystats are, but attempting to progress up the pitch in this way will generally increase your chances of victory. Try playing a gold team with a bronze team and see if you can master this style of play, this will no doubt improve your skills and make you a better player when up against disciplined opposition in future 16th March 2016 8211 When using formations with wingers, 4-3-3 for example, there is a way in which you can switch the play in order create lots of space on the opposite side of the pitch and get yourself into an attacking position. When one of your wingers has possession by the touchline get him on his stronger foot (this may require turning back on yourself), then hold the LBL1 button together with YTriangle. Hold the YTriangle button down long enough for there to be enough power in the pass for the opposite winger to run onto (this may be require filling the power bar all the way up until the end). Untradeable packs consist of players which cannot be sold, and can only be used by yourself. This does not change the supply of players on the Transfer Market, but it does slightly decrease demand depending on how many have been opened. This inadvertently causes prices to fall, and makes selling players more difficult if they are approaching their minimum values. 28th February 2016 8211 The final batch of winter upgrades (featuring Neymar, Miranda and Douglas Costa) have been released and their hype will soon fizzle out. With what is predicted to be little excitement in FUT over the next month or so (probably until the TOTS releases in April), we can see prices gradually creeping back up (especially low-mid tiered players). We8217ve already started to see that trend over the last few days. 27th February 2016 8211 When receiving the ball with an opponent close to your player8217s back, you generally have three options pass the ball off first time, attempt to flick the ball past your opponent or shield the ball and hold up possession. If your player receives the ball at his feet and there are no easy first time options available, then we recommend going for option three. To do this correctly, hold the LTL2 button on your controller as the ball is close to hitting your player8217s feet, when your player is in possession he should lower his stance slightly and shield the ball, giving you valuable time to find a moving option and retain possession. This tip can be very useful in situations where your opponent is applying high pressure and you8217re struggling to keep possession. Give it a go and let us know how you get on 26th February 2016 8211 There are typically 15 TOTS squads, which are released in mid to April this year. Check out our TOTS archive . 25th February 2016 8211 If you8217re someone who prefers taking penalties up the middle, but get caught out by the goalkeeper staying central and catching the ball, there is a way that you can still go up the middle and increase your chances of scoring. All you have to do is hold the left analogue stick up for only a second or so as you8217re powering up, or during your run-up. If done correctly your penalty should fly just under the bar, near the roof of the net. This is of course risky because if you hold up for too long you can hit the bar or miss the target completely, but with practice this does work and it is very effective. The reason this works so well is because if your opponent stays in the middle and DOESN8217T hold up when controlling the keeper, the ball will fly over his head and still go in. With this type of penalty we advise powering with the laces (DON8217T use RBR1) and aiming for around or just under 3 bars of power. 24th February 2016 8211 Unfortunately there will be no MOTM Messi today, even after EA announced we8217ll be seeing a new MOTM today. This will be where we8217re made aware of all the exciting FIFA 17 news 21st February 2016 8211 If you8217re a player who tends to get lobbed a lot then we have a very simple, yet very effective solution for you to try. Now we8217re assuming the reason you8217re getting lobbed a lot is because you have a habit of taking your goalkeeper off his line too much, or at the wrong times. When the opposition is through on goal, during a counter-attack for example, hold the Ytriangle button right up until the moment you think your opponent has noticed your keeper is attacking the ball. Now timing is absolutely crucial on this, the moment they have noticed this it is likely they will try to lob you, so let go of Ytriangle as quick as possible and any lobbed attempt at goal should be caught or tipped over by your keeper. By doing this you are essentially bluffing bringing your keeper out and baiting the player with the ball into shooting. We know this works because we use it every game. 20th February 2016 8211 The 8216Bolasie Flick8217 is a new skill move and has been very popular among FIFA players since its introduction. Players with 5 star skill moves such as Bolasie can perform this trick and although it may look complicated to the average FIFA player, it8217s not as difficult to learn as you may think. To perform this skill move you must hold the RBR1 button, then flick the right analogue stick up, let it come back to its default position and then flick it either left or right (depending on which way you want your player to spin). Using this in wide areas in-particular can be a great way to beat opposing full backs and create space to cut inside Practice makes perfect, so don8217t give up if you struggle during your first few attempts, once mastered you8217ll be leaving defenders on their backside on a gamely basis. 19th February 2016 8211 With several pack offers over FUT United (with the likely 50k and 100k packs to come), 3rd round upgraded players in packs today and HERO MESSI (until Feb 24th, 6pm UK), it8217s no wonder that prices have taken a slight downturn. A greater drop can be seen with the low priced players. We anticipate prices dropping further, especially now that hero messi is available and 50k 100k packs will likely follow. 18th February 2016 8211 To add a little flair to your game, you can use the 1 star skill move 8211 the 8216Foot Fake8217. The great thing about this skill move is that any player can perform it, meaning you don8217t have to keep looking at which player is in control of the ball. To perform the 8216Foot Fake8217 all you have to do is hold LBRBL1R1 together and your player will hold up the ball, lift his foot up behind the ball and move it around in an attempt to fool the opposing defender. At the end of this trick you can sprint from a standing start and catch the defender off guard. The player will scoop the ball into the air and flick the ball over his and his opponent8217s head and run onto the ball, leaving your opponent left standing. 13th February 2016 8211 You can indirectly change FUT Draft formations in-game. Pause the game, go to Team Management and press X (Xbox) or square (PS) on a player, you can then manually move them to any location. By using this method you can actually create custom formations This does take time however, so you may have to practice this before trying it out online. 12th February 2016 8211 When challenging for headers, particularly in midfield areas, many FIFA players rapid tap BCircle, believing this is the best way to win the ball in these situations. It is true that this is a good way to win the challenge, but this type of header is more suited to clearing the ball in moments of desperation, as using this method gives no clear guidance on the direction of the ball. From our vast experience in these types of situations, you are far better off holding AX (the shortground pass button) and aiming the header in the direction of an open player on your team. Many FIFA players refrain from doing this as they believe they will have less chance of winning the ball, however this isn8217t true We regularly win the ball in these situations, it8217s all about body position and timing. Why is this useful Many of you will be aware of the recent update that changed prices to their maximum by default, ensuring users don8217t accidentally list their items at a minimum price and potentially lose A LOT of coins. When listing multiple items, many users still hold the analogue stick to the left and gradually decrease the price of an item before listing it. With this fairly recent update, the introduction of a one button minmax price change button can save A LOT of time, all you have to do is hit the left triggerL2 button Using this small and simple feature will make listing items far less tedious 10th February 2016 8211 When attempting long-shots we8217ve noticed that you generally have more success when striking the ball across the opposing goalkeeper. We believe this is due to the shooting mechanics in recent FIFA titles, as well as the natural positioning of keepers. With this in mind, we always take notice of a player8217s stronger foot when selecting our team. For example, if you are using a formation that has two central midfielders, place the one with a stronger left foot in the left-central position and the one with the stronger right foot in the right-central position. Doing this should statistically create more opportunities when one of these players will be in a position to score a long-shot across the keeper. Remember, most of the time you will be more successful aiming for that far top-corner. Try it out and let us know how you get on 9th February 2016 8211 Recently we8217ve had a number of users ask us how to kick the ball ahead of themselves at speed, whilst still retaining possession with that player. This is actually a very simple dribbling method, yet many people still haven8217t it figured out Whilst sprinting (with clear pitch ahead of you), flick the right analogue in the same or similar direction that you are travelling in, you will notice the player with the ball surge forward slightly. Try this same technique again but flick the right analogue stick twice this time, you will notice a bigger movement with the ball being kicked ahead to run onto to. You can even flick the right analogue stick three times for a huge forward boost in certain situations, but be careful, if you do this with an opposing player in your run-line you can easily lose possession. 8th February 2016 8211 Have you ever scored a Scorpion Kick and wondered how you did it First of all the player performing the scorpion kick must have the 8216Flair Trait8217 (Zlatan Ibrahimovic or Neymar for example), you must then aim a cross slightly behind this player. If you have successfully crossed the ball slightly behind the receiver, you must then hold LTL2 and hold the shoot button (BCircle), if timed correctly you will perform a spectacular overhead volley with your player8217s heel Holding LTL2 when shooting in different scenarios will also allow for other flair shotsfinishes, try them out and let us know if you manage to perform anything special for the highlight reel 7th February 2016 8211 An overlooked skill move that is extremely effective and yet rarely used is the 8216Ball Roll8217. Using this at the correct times can win you bucket loads of free kicks and even penalties What exactly is a 8216Ball Roll8217 It is when a player rolls their foot over the ball in a lateral motion, changing the line of their run in order to avoid being tackled and pass opponents. The reason this is so effective is because it completely changes the line of your run extremely quickly, resulting in you either being fouled or evading tackles entirely. Timing is crucial 8211 perform this skill move too early and the opposing player will have a moment to adjust their direction also, perform it too late and you will probably be close enough for your opponent to win the tackle. How do I perform 8216Ball Rolls8217 Whilst running at an opposing player, release the sprint button, Hold the left triggerL2 button and then finally briefly hold the right analogue stick to either your opponent8217s left or right (this will usually be up or down on the right analogue, as you face the controller). We8217ve just seen the release of a decent TOTW 21 (featuring Pogba, Modric, Lewandowski and Lahm) which will mean pack openings will increase and prices for low-mid tiered players (especially) should fall further. We8217ve already seen a 10-20 drop in most cheap players. Prices should be at short term lows towards the end of the Chinese New Year promotion and will likely increase marginally before the predicted Winter Upgrades on Monday, February 15th 2016 at 10am UK. We8217ve also predicted Skill Move Upgrades on February 20th 2016. Obviously it all depends on the pack offers released, but if you purchase towards the end of the promotion AND SELL BEFORE WINTER UPGRADES, you should be set to make a few coins That gives you a window of roughly 5 days to see small gains. 3rd February 2016 8211 We8217ve been receiving a lot of questions regarding your expensive blue TOTY player investments and the fact that they8217re in a consistent decline (which contradicts the trend in previous years). Firstly it appears as though users have wised up as to how much each card is truly worth. Secondly TOTY hype is in sharp decline. Prices are taking a hit now due to the earlier over-hype spending and current panic selling. One thing is for sure and that8217s the number of blues available8230 As less people panic sell, they will become more scarce and should command a higher price. Having said that we8217re on the brink of seeing the Winter Upgrade fever hit FUT and that could dampen demand for the blues.
